Go See The Odessy Movie (1)
Happy Tuesday fam,
Welcome back to Stay Curious — a newsletter I write once per week on 3 things keeping me curious, or I send one of you a 100 dolla bill for catching me if I skip.
Here’s what’s on my mind this week:
1. Go See The Odessy Movie. Like Now.
Christopher Nolan's “Odyssey” is the 1st feature film ever shot on 100% IMAX. It’s also filmed using no CGI, Special Effects or Green Screen, which is actually mind-bending.
More Crazy Facts
First 100% IMAX Feature: Every single scene was captured using massive IMAX cameras, which can only hold about two and a half to three minutes of film at a time. He used 2 million feet of film.
Custom Soundproof Blimp: Traditional IMAX cameras are extremely loud, so Nolan had a special 300-pound soundproof box built with a mirror system so actors could still maintain eye contact.
The Daily Castle Trek: Scenes for Ithaca were filmed at a 15th-century castle on the Italian island of Favignana, requiring the crew to make a steep thousand-foot hike every morning before lifts and helicopters were set up
And a random fun fact: no phones are allowed on set during filming. Christopher Nolan doesn’t own a smartphone and doesn’t have an email, because he sees no need for it.
What a wild reminder that sometimes to lock in, you gotta lock the phone away.
2. Canada’s First Surf Park

If you haven’t heard of this new surf park coming to Canada, give it a look here.
It just got some press this week but man oh man, it fires me up to see these big dreams take shape.
3. Hot Take of the Week
Ask this question more: “what would make today feel more like a Saturday?”
It may just make your week days that much more epic.
Liked today’s deep dive? Forward it to a friend.
